Personal Writing

Casey loved reading and writing and read constantly from a young age, something that certainly also assisted in the development of her writing skills. She also naturally acquired an extensive vocabulary from a very early age. Her grandmother, Mom Mom Anderson, would often repeat, “Casey could talk before she walked!” Not yet a toddler, Casey reported that her Ken doll was “decapitated” when his head came off and an “amputee" when he lost a leg! Yes, give Mom the liberty of bragging a bit. That Casey scored an 800 on the verbal section of her SAT’s is evidence of her distinctive verbal skills, since only a few percentages of students nationwide are able to achieve that score.

This section has been captioned “personal writing” to distinguish it from Casey’s published writing. Most of what we have added here are essays that Casey during high school or for college applications which were found on her computer. Casey saved multiple drafts, so it isn’t even clear if some of these writings were her final drafts. We have just begun the task of posting these writings, so check back for updates and additions.
