Fordham Observer

Soon after arriving at Fordham, in the fall of 06’ where Feldman majored in communication and media studies with a concentration in journalism, Casey joined The Observer, the newspaper at the Manhattan campus, getting her first news bylines as a freshman, becoming an assistant news editor as a sophomore and news editor as a junior. She was set to return as news editor during her senior year and had just come back from the annual Observer summer retreat just weeks before her accident.

“Casey was an exceptionally talented news reporter and editor — an inquisitive, dogged and thorough perfectionist,” said Elizabeth Stone, a professor of English and communication and media studies, and faculty adviser to The Observer. "…Her news reporting and editing won quite a few awards for The Observer, and she herself had recently been recognized as well — as a finalist in a contest for college reporters who write about religious issues.”
