On June 30, the New York City Council voted to approve Fordham University’s expansion plan. The vote marks the last step in the approval process, and Fordham will now be able to officially begin construction after Mayor Bloomberg reviews the plan.

According to a Fordham press statement, “The $1.6 billion dollar plan…[will create] 4,500 to 5,000 construction jobs” before its completion, estimated to be in 2032.
